Gunpowder OrganicUser reviewsAverage customer review:
I bought organic gunpowder green tea and now my boys drink it regularly. They love it. Great to drink when you start feeling sluggish. A great pick me up! And it comes packaged extremely well. Great customer service, too!
- Fairly strong and tart but quite a smooth and good, clear, taste. This is the way I like tea, so, I tend to brew it to get this strong, tart, taste. In spite of the latter, I have found no significant, lingering, aftertaste. - Virtually nil stems or other such things among the leaves.
This is my green tea staple. I love green tea, drink lots of it and the gunpowder has always been my first choice. For the organic tea, it is also a very good price (I buy the largest amount, 16oz, because I know I'll use it)
A little strong for me but guys seem to prefer it.
I always feel like I should be drinking green tea even though I've never cared for it. I read the reviews and tried the Gunpowder Organic and really enjoy it. I've recommended it to several friends, all of whom have also liked this tea. It is indeed smoother than many green teas and an easy tea to drink. I enjoy a cup in the evenings after dinner. Perfect.
my favorite green tea drink it daily
I have been a fan of Gunpowder for 5+ years. Was at one of Beth's fabulous tea presentations and she introduced this smoky green tea. I was instantly hooked and it's always been a part of my permanent collection.
This tea is not my favorite. I prefer the lighter/grassy flavor in tea. If you like a robust flavor this tea might be for you.
This is my personal favorite tea here. I know that a lot of green-tea drinkers like the rich vegetal taste of a lot of green teas, but I much prefer the woodsier, smokier taste of the gunpowder greens. This is a really satisfying tea that I can drink all day long and never get tired of.
Honestly, i'm not a huge green tea fan - but i really like this pinhead gunpowder. If you only steep this tea for 2 mins in sub-boiling water, it seems pretty weak. After about 4 mins, however, it is still only mildly grassy with woody & spicy flavors. I tend to observe a reasonable quantity of small particulate tea 'dust' in the bottom of my cup with this variety.
MY FAVORITE GUNPOWDER GREEN BY FAR. SMOOTH AND FLAVORFUL IF BREWED CORRECTLY AND GIVES MULTIPLE STEEPS.
Green is not my favorite, but this one is one of the best I have had so far.
I've been very happpy with the quality and delivery
I enjoy this tea once in a while. I like the light smoky taste and drink this tea when I get up or with a meal. It has a light taste.
Another great green tea, always keep this one on hand.
My favorite tea in the morning. So smooth and delicious. Best gunpowder I have ever had by far!
this is the best gunpowder I have ever tasted. some gunpowder taste like dirt and kerosene, but not this smooth earthy tasting one.
I afraid that I am not as much a fan of gunpowder as I am of several other of the green teas. It is a unique taste.
This is by far the best gunpowder green tea I have tasted. You can tell it is high quality and does not taste like dirt, like the lower quality teas do.
this was a gift and recieved as one of the finest gunpowder tasted
I was first introduced to gun powder green during a trip to Morraco. There Gun powder green is combined with generous amounts of fresh mint, bergamont, a sugar. The resulting is a tonic sure to calm the nerves, revive the weary traveler and assure that guests are always welcome. The tea alone brew up into a nice earthy green tea flavor and its low caffeine make it a great afternoon or evening beverage. This is another tea I like to serve with mint over ice, very refreshing for a hot Florida afternoon.
I love the taste to value ratio of this tea! It is an excellent example of gunpowder tea, (I'd actually give it a 4.5 rating) made all the better by it being an organic tea!
Gunpowder green is not a tea for everyone, but, if you know you like it, this is an excellent example of it. I wanted to mention that I purchased this tea along with a travel mug and was having problems getting the water temperature to amount of gunpowder correct (i.e. to keep the tea from going bitter). Well, I emailed Beth (as in the Ask Beth of this website) and, to my amazement, I got a reply within an hour of my email. She and I walked through the different options until I found one that worked perfectly with the travel mug. This is amazing customer service that I can't imagine getting anywhere else. Oh, for those who are curious, it turns out that 170 deg. centigrade water and a scant teaspoon (scant being the important word) will give you a travel mug of tea that will not turn bitter. I even left the water and tea in the mug for 30 minutes to see if it would have any problems and it did not.
I wanted to correct my last review. The temperature should have been 170 degrees Fahrenheit not centigrade. Super heating water for tea seems like a dangerous and bad idea!
I am not a big fan of the Green Teas. However, I don't mind Gunpowder. To me all the green teas have a funny taste to them.
Able to get two cups by brewing twice, but need to be careful of time brewing as can get strong and bitter.
When I opened the bag of Gunpowder I found a nice jade green firm leafed tea. I tend to over brew my tea by choice. I found this this tea to be bold, but not bitter, with a slightly aged, earthy flavor. Very nice!
A good gunpowder green! The flavors blend together well, very suddle and smooth.
This gunpowder is quite strong, and lacks the fishy taste of many gunpowders I have tried. It is an excellent base tea if you like to flavour your teas with rose petals, essential oils, or spices.
Good tasting green tea. Be sure to steep in a clear mug or pitcher so that you can see the leaves hydrate and reach full size.
Smokey and full, but not one of my favorite greens. Rather than having subtle shadings, it hit me across the head with a 2X4.
This green tea really expresses the earthyness of tea and distinguishes it from other basic green teas.
Before I tried this tea, I was not much of a Gunpowder fan, but this one is quite nice, smooth and easy on the throat. I also use it to mix with other teas.
Your Gunpowder Imperial Organic is my favorite green tea. I start my day with it everyday. It has flavor- not to light- but not bitter. I appreciate that its organic as well.
I just tried this tea for the first time. I like the tea, but is heavier in flavour than I expected. I may try using a little less tea when I brew my next pot. |
