Dragon Well Pre-Qing MingUser reviewsAverage customer review:
this is a tea were just the scent wants you to drink more, smooth nice tea
I usually prefer Oolong's and white teas, but since this won an award and due to the description Teas Etc said, I had to try it. I was very happy I tried it. I've finally found a non-flavored green tea I like. I will get some on my next order and will be happy to share this tea with family and friends.
I really enjoy this Dragonwell more than the dragonwell from other vendors. It also yields many infusions!
Very good green tea. Tea does not give astringent tast common in lower grade teas after being brewed for more than the typically recommended 2-3 min steep time. Can be infused 2-3 times...less so if you like your tea stong.
This is a beautiful green tea. I've tried a lower quality Dragonwell before and was not very impressed with the fishy flavor it imparted, however this Dragonwell is a nutty, aromatic, light green tea that's more nuanced than I anticipated. Well worth the price, I will be ordering this tea again and again.
This is my wife favorite tea! She is a green tea drinker. To me this tea is very enjoyable as well. I drink it all by it self ( no sugar or milk) and the nutty taste makes you want to go for more. Recommended!
Dragon Well is my favorite kind of green tea and this one is a little bit different to what I'm accustomed with Dragon Wells. Maybe I always had lower grade Dragon Wells. Anyway, the tea is excellent and it reminds a bit of good quality Japanese teas in smell and taste. To me Dragon Wells are like quality white wines and this one would definitely be top shelf Sauvignon Blanc in my book.
Great authentic and powerful green tea flavor. No bitter after taste. Definitely will reorder.
I've ordered Dragon Well from TeasEtc for years now, and I can safely say it is delicious and high quality. I've compared it to other source's Dragon Wells in the past, and TeasEtc really has a competitive, tasty Dragon Well every year. I love it - my favorite tea. Keep it up!
My wife is a green tea fanatic and she gave her seal of approval. Very straight forward green tea with no bitterness, only nutty after taste. I drink it in the afternoon and it doesn't keep me awake at night, like a black tea would.
Excellent tea, exceeds expectations.
I would say that this is a solid dragon well in that it exhibits the typical characteristics of dragon well tea but there wasn't anything that made it stand out for me, compared to others that I have tasted. I wonder what particular region it was grown in, as that could make a huge different in flavor. I much prefer the subtleties of a high grade Xi Hu or Shi Feng dragon well but I think this is a good start for those trying to develop their palates.
Smooth, great lingering aftertaste. Not grassy - just a wonderful quality tea. I prefer the 2011 to last years.
This is a mild green tea, smooth and soft. It's slightly roasted nut tone adds a nice dimension. The leaves are perfectly dried. If you want a lift in your day with out overstimulation this is a great tea.
very good dragon well smooth and buttery to the taste
I received a sample of the dragon well tea with my previous order, and this is positively the best green tea I have ever tasted. If you are a fan of green tea, you will absolutely love this for its simplicity and unmatched delicious flavor. Very much worth the higher price.
Although i tend to prefer black and oolong teas, Dragon Well was a very pleasant surprise! After ~3 mins brew time, the cup has very little color but a very enticing sweet but complex aroma. The flavor is slightly woody and mellow - no grassiness or astringency - with undertones that resembling anise.
This is delightfully flavorful green tea, it has a very subtle flavor.
I'm not as big a fan of Dragonwell teas as some, but this has a delicate flavor with a light buttery finish. There isn't near the flavor as other green teas.
This is one of the best Dragon Well teas that I've had in a while.
Incredibly nutty and light. Great for a refresher.
I have become a tea snob and unfortunately, don't enjoy too much beside white tea. However, this is the one green I drink because of its great taste. It is hard to describe but after drinking it, it feels like it coats your mouth with butter. It is smooth, tasty and relaxing! I like the nutty flavor. Highly recommend this tea!!!!!
Super Smooth
This is a good green tea, very refreshing I love it in the morning.
I really enjoy this green tea and try to order it whenever it is in stock.
Oh, no! You are out of my favorite tea. This is the BEST tea as far as I'm concerned. What am I to do now?
This is good Dragon Well tea. I've had some that is better, but I had to buy it from a vendor in Chinatown in NYC.
This is a truly delightful cup of tea which deserves the title of first grade
Very good Dragonwell tea. Raw tea leaves have a good texture, low water concentration, low dust level in bag, and are in good overall condition with few broken leaves. The tea tasts good (slight nutty taste with no dirty taste as many low quality Dragonwell teas have). This tea has all the characteristics of good Dragonwell tea at a reasonable price.
An excellent tea. Very nice taste only negative is the price but worth it for a treat!
I've been a fan of dragonwell for some time, and this is one of the best I've had. Very distinct aroma, and light excellent flavor. This dragonwell seems to have more of the buttery mouth coating flavor that I love from dragonwell. My only complaint was that some of the leaves appeared to be burnt or brown, didn't expect that with this grade, but it did not affect the taste.
Our travels in China several years ago included a visit to a tea plantation where we purchased some Early Spring Dragon Well green tea. Returning home, we started drinking that and stopped drinking coffee every morning. We have ordered Dragon Well Tea from Teas etc for several years now and find your service to be dependable, quick, honest, and the tea is of good quality. We have recommended your tea to family and friends. Thank you. Joan Blumeyer
I've been drinking green tea for years and have tried many types -- everything from Lipton's version to specialty teas from a Chinese market. I was looking for something with an extraordinary flavor largely because I was trying to get my wife to drink green tea due to some health issues. She had tried green tea many times, but just didn't care for the after taste. Well my wife and I have been enjoying our green tea for over six months now. We tend to brew at least three or four cups using the sames leaves (brewed one cup at a time). Each cup has it's own distinct character. I just purchased the 16 oz bag. Having a cup of Dragon Well with my wife has become one of my favorite times of the day.
Delicious! This first grade tea is worth trying. Brew a Tea Travel Mug (from teasetc.com)of this wonderful green tea in the evening and refrigerate overnight. In the morning you will have a cool refreshing drink for the next day. As a hot bedtime drink, it is very relaxing. Sleep well all night long! I drink it all day long.
This Is dragonwell green tea. Perhaps I oversteeped this but this was way too bitter. And I did not like It that well. Perhaps I am being a tad hard on this but I have not had many green teas either.
This is exceptional. Complex, full, buttery.
Of the dragonwell green teas in its price-range, the pre-qing ming first grade had become my favorite. Its delicate chestnuttiness is the best that I've found; I just ordered another bag. With that bag, teasetc.com kindly included a one cup sample of bai mu dan xian cha, the organic white tea, and I had a love-at-first-cup experience. It's amazing tea.
I have been drinking green tea for about two or three years. I have found that it takes quite a while to develop a taste for a type of tea, and to decide if it is good or not. I can mostly tell if I like it by whether I crave it in the middle of the night, because the taste is typically so subtle that it detect more at an unconscious level. With this tea I find myself wanting to drink it all the time. It has this slightly medicinal flavor, which nevertheless is not overpowering (in contrast to cheaper white teas I have tried). It is also very comforting to my stomach, which makes it a great just before bed drink. I find it important to let it soak in the hot water for only about three minutes, otherwise it develops a bitter taste, which I don't like. I make it slightly stronger than the instructions recommend. I also use distilled water.
My husband and I went to China Last November and paid $188 a pound for A Quality Dragon Well Green Tea. We were told we could not purchase the A grade tea outside of China because it was "the peoples" tea. I have tried others, but this absolutely comes the closest to what we brought back from China, and it is less than half the cost.....it is so close that I am buying a couple more pounds to ensure I have it. |
