I have had yerba matte before and really liked it. This version is a bit musky for my taste.

Sometimes cheap or generic mates can have an unpleasant 'ashtray' smell, which is why I was never a fan. But as usual, this company's mate exemplifies the best of what a tea can be. It is fresh, clean, and it feels very cleansing to the body. It is a wonderful after dinner drink for those who do not want to drink too much caffeine at night, but like their tea.

Green mate, especially unflavored, taste a little grassy with maybe some tree bark. This is not a bad thing however it certainly has it's own flavor. The brew was smooth..a bit boring...and no sweetener was needed but i prefer flavored mate over unflavored.

The earthiness of this tea is a delight. It's somehow grassy, sweet, and light at the same time, with a nice caffeine boost. I'm hooked!
