Glad that I took the time to read other reviews because the smell is really not something you enjoy so therefore the taste is not so great..but I use a cup with a lid and add some sweetner and ginger and I am good to go..and the reason to do this is does reduce cholesterol must to my surprise. let face it the product is not in cheap...
I like pu'erh for the health benefits but I think it smells and tastes funny by itself. The citrus burst is one of my favorite though.
I credit the Pu'erh with helping to lower my cholesterol. I refuse to take the medicine and though I watch my diet, my cholesterol in the past has been too high. After diligently drinking this tea (along with some other natural methods) my numbers were within normal range last time. It has an earthy taste and at first made me think I was drinking "swamp water" for it has the color of the Okeefenokee, but after adding a bit of dried ginger root and some stevia I now find it very tasty. I drink it after lunch for I understand it also aids in digestion.
my grandson intoduced me to pu'erh and I brew this tea everyday with your organic ginger added...i love it
Pu'erh is definitely it's own thing, but this one is really nice. Rich, woody, and earthy - great with a little chocolate.
THIS PUEHR IS VERY SMOOTH AND EARTHY. BETTER THAT SOME I'VE HAD FROM CAKES. GIVES MULTIPLE STEEPS AND YOU CAN'T OVERSTEEP IT.
This tea has very unique flavor to it, but is still good for the morning pick me up.
I tried this and really liked it. I was trying some other teas and have now ordered this again. I missed it. I like a little heavier tea sometimes and this works for me in the morning. Plus, I like the health benefits that it provides.
Very earthy and bold. It tastes way better than it smells.
this tea definitely needs a cultivated palate. I love it now, although it still smells and tastes a little like tree bark.
I found this tea to be very refreshing as an iced tea, I prefer the Pu'erh Tuo-Cha Tea, but found this to be very satisfying as well.
I wasn't crazy about this pu-erh. The flavors came out most in the first infusion. I was not impressed with second infusions, which I'm not used to in a pu-erh. The flavors were more on the dusty side than earthy and rich and with lots of notes from the fermentation. Had a dry sort of taste (not as in astringent, but as in dusty) that didn't wow me.
This earthy tea may be an acquired taste but I love it. Very satisfying brew, good for multiple steeps. It's worth cultivating a taste for it if only for its reputed health benefits.
My acupuncturist suggested I drink Pu'erh tea because he said I have low kidney and liver "energy". He said that this tea will detoxify my blood, create more energy in those organs. I was expecting this tea to taste terrible but I was willing to drink it anyway for the health benefits. Actually--it's quite good-I add coconut milk and stevia (Truvia) and it's yummy. Best part of all--since I've been drinking this tea (not long at all) my kidney and liver pulses are steady and strong. I also like the alert but calm feeling I get after drinking it in the am. A much better buzz than coffee and no side effects! I will continue to drink this tea everyday. I love it.
This tea is delicious, smooth, beautiful in the cup and very pure. We love it!
I love the earthy tones and rich flavor, but not a flavor for everyone. This is a great tea to get me up and going in the morning.
I love this tea. I tried it for the first time last week and I loved the full body taste and smoothness. I also like that it is supposed to help lower cholesterol. We shall see. There was no after taste...as with all of your teas!
I do not drink this tea for the taste - that's for sure! I actually do not enjoy this tea much at all. I do however, believe in the benefits of tea - this tea will help with cholesterol and digestion and I drink this tea for those benefits. I may try to add some lemon or honey or something to help with the taste - but I will definitely continue to buy this the Pu'erh tea
This tea has the same taste as the birds nest Pu'erh and enjoy them both. I love the energy boost, and the flavor is wonderful mixed with peppermint.
When I started drinking loose leaf tea I started with lapsang souchong, so I wasn't scared away by the description of pu'er as having a strong, distinctive taste. I've used up all the pu'er I bought, so it wasn't unpalatable in any way, but it wasn't something that I enjoyed a great deal. It may have been very good pu'er tea though, for all I know.
I cannot say anything good about this tea, except, perhaps that the smell of it in the bag isn't bad. This tea reminds me of brewed lichen and bark. It is claimed to be good for digestion, and perhaps that is true. I have no idea, as I could not finish even one cup.
This tea doesn't seem to have a strong enough flavor to be interesting to me. Pleasant to drink. |
