This is what I've been looking for! (Wednesday, August 25, 2010)
Reviewer: Melissa

I've been looking for a plastic travel mug that would showcase the tea I'm drinking. I saw the one at another site but it was made of glass which is impractical, especially since I have to juggle everything and a baby. I wish there were more designs and other cap colors so that there isn't a mix up with mugs between friends and family since I want to get more for gifts. I also feel that at 12fl oz. It's really neither here nor there. Why isn't it 16fl oz? So it's exactly 2 cups of tea.

I have dropped (Friday, July 30, 2010)
Reviewer: Michele

I have been using the tea traveler for over a year. I have dropped it several times. It has even rolled under the car on a cement driveway. It still works fine.

do not drop! (Tuesday, July 20, 2010)

I thought this was the best mug I had found in a long time. That was until it took a spill. From a height of only two feet, the mug tumbled out of my bag and fell on the ground. Apparently that was all it took to render this mug useless. the seal will not hold and the lid is warped enough for liquid to come out quite a bit when everything is screwed on tight. While I take full responsibility for dropping it, I am pretty surprised that such a short fall would basically make it unusable. My search for a better mug will continue I suppose.

Wonderful cup! (Thursday, July 15, 2010)
Reviewer: Dawn

I recently ordered this cup and have been enjoying it daily for a few days now. I agree with the other reviewers who say this is the best travel cup for tea that I have ever used. I find that the cup gets a bit hotter than the product description implies; however, I do not care for tea made with less than very hot water, so use my usual temperature in this cup. It is definitely important to put the screen top on before pouring in the water! I did not do that the first time and was baptized with hot water (ouch!) that leaked out. The outer lid seals very well and I've had no leaking (once I put the screen on correctly). I am heating water in a saucepan, and find that I must be careful when pouring to mimic the thinner stream from a teakettle, otherwise I get an airlock below the screen and the water does not wish to go down into the cup. This has not happened since I got the hang of what was necessary and in no way diminishes my appreciation of this fine product.

Reviewer: Marta

I asked my Chinese friend to translate the characters on the cup. She said it was a poem to the new tea leaves and the earth that grows them. It’s appropriate for this tea traveler, which I love using. Every day! I even use it for drinks other than tea…like water with lemon slices. I am also impressed with the product’s quality. I plan to purchase a few more so I don’t have to keep washing this one out every night!

Tea Travel Mug (Saturday, March 20, 2010)
Reviewer: Angela

My mom bought one of these mugs from a spa recently and has been using it daily. I finally tracked it down on this website and bought it and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase! This mug is perfect for taking to my college classes. The tea is heated perfectly, but the outside of the mug never feels too hot. It fits in the cup holder in my car and also in the beverage pocket of my backpack. I also accidentally tipped the mug over on my bed, but because of the lid, nothing leaked out. This product does everything it claims to do and more.

I have found the perfect travel mug to take my tea with me. It drove me crazy thinking about all the waste I was producing from to-go paper cups. No more! This mug is the perfect solution. Pros: Easy to clean, simple design, and low cost. Cons: I only wish it held a little more water--but it's not too big of a deal. Over all I love it!

I wanted to cut back on my coffee drinking at work, but didn't want to go the tea bags/coffee mug route. I decided to order the Tea Travel Mug and loose tea, and it has been great! I've only had the Tea Travel Mug for a week, but I use it every day at work - refilling it several times a day. Everyone at work thinks it is pretty cool, and I tell them all to go to Teasetc.com to get their own mug and tea.

Bought three so far (Monday, February 15, 2010)
Reviewer: Tommy

I am very pleased with this travel mug. It looks good and does a great job. I have bought three so far, one for home, one for work, and one for a gift. Although I have no reservations about recommending this mug, I want to point out two things. First, it is not a double-walled, vacuum-insulated thermos so it does warm up a bit just after you pour in the water. Second, you will have to thoroughly wash the mug after having anything aromatic, such as the Chamomile Lavender Organic, to prevent the plastic seals from holding the aroma around until your next cup of tea.

perfect for carrying tea on the go (Thursday, January 07, 2010)
Reviewer: Elizabeth

I never used to drink tea in the mornings because I didn't want to sit around and wait for it to brew in my teapot, and then pour the tea into a travel mug. (I'm a bike commuter, so I need something that can seal completely.) Now that I have this mug, I can prepare my tea before I leave for the office, screw on the cap, throw it into my bag, and the tea will still be hot by the time I arrive to the office 30 minutes later. No leaks! I've been searching for a long time for a mug that fit my routine, and am really glad that I found it!

Amazing in just about every way (Thursday, December 31, 2009)
Reviewer: Katie

This mug is gorgeous. I am in love with it. I constantly get compliments on it and everyone knows it is mine in the break room at work. There are pros and cons to this one, but overall the pros overwhelm any imperfections. Pros: Nice and sturdy design Very pretty Tea looks gorgeous in it Stays hot, but isn't too hot to hold Nice tight seal, doesn't leak in a bag Easy to clean Plastic, but thick and looks nice Cons: Can't take out the tea leaves. They have a video on the site explaining how to get around oversteeping due to this issue. In accordance with the video, I too use the same methods and still enjoy a fantastic cup of tea on the go. -Use a little less tea than normal, especially with dark, strong teas. -Use water that is just a tad bit cooler than recommended. While it may change the quality of the tea a tiny bit, it won't become too bitter sitting in the cup the whole time. Overall, I love this thing. You will love it too.

Great find! (Saturday, December 26, 2009)
Reviewer: Thao

I was really debating this mug as I've already bought a few different types of travel tea mugs in the past. However, upon arrival, this mug has done nothing short of making me drink tea with it daily. Its construction is great. There are no loose parts between the body, strainer, and cap. I emailed Beth before regarding whether or not it was leak proof and she said it was. In order to test it, I filled it to the brim and vigorously shaked it in order to simulate (kind of) what a bumpy walk might be like. Not a single spill or drop. However, it is important to mention, sometimes the water likes to pool above the strainer, so you have to be careful to give it a few taps to make it drop down. Again, that's only a result of tipping it upside down. Figuring out how to brew the tea is another matter, but so far, none of my teas have tasted worse at all. I've been drinking them more if anything because of this mug.

The perfect travel mug (Wednesday, December 16, 2009)
Reviewer: Zachary

I got my travel mug and a bag of gunpowder green tea and couldn't wait to try them out. Gunpowder can be a difficult tea to brew correctly and I wasn't sure if it was going to work well with this travel mug and, no surprises here, my first cup turned out unpleasantly bitter. Frustrated, I emailed Beth (of Ask Beth fame) and, to my surprise, got a reply within an hour of my email. She and I tried several configurations, over several days, until we finally got to the perfect combination of gunpowder green and water temperature. I can't believe how wonderful the customer service was here at Teas Etc. For anyone who is curious, 170 deg. Fahrenheit water and a scant (scant being the key word) teaspoon of gunpowder will give a wonderful cup that, even after 30 minutes of steeping, will not be bitter.

Reviewer: Boryana

I have written a review before, but now I feel the need to add to it: I have used this mug for a couple of years now, and it has fallen SPECTACULARLY -- including from the second floor of a building and even out of a car! It has come to work with me in ice and snow, as well as sweltering heat, been tossed around tool boxes, it has gone through many airport security procedures, gone to a couple of mountain tops, several continents, been lost and then found, and it has been my constant companion through many jobs and adventures. Through all that, it is STILL working! Completely leak proof! It looks really cool now -- all scratched up and full of character. Many people have asked me about it, and I recommend it hotly. I just thought you guys should know that you can count on it for years to come. :-)

Reviewer: Cindy

I have been searching for the "perfect" travel mug for quite some time, as evidenced by all the variations sitting on my shelves. This is as close to perfect as I have found. I would have given it 5 stars except for two small issues I have noticed. The first is that if I screw the tops on when the water is too hot, it will leak. I solve this by letting it cool a bit before placing the lids on. The other is that the filter does allow some tiny pieces of rooibos through. Be prepared to answer alot of questions when you carry this mug, everyone seems to be intrigued by it!

We love these. Traveling to China earlier in the year we noted Chinese with tea leaves in insultated containers that they used all day just by adding hot water periodically. They seemed to strain the tea leaves with their teeth. These work the similarly - loose tea in the container and hot water. You can replenish water througout the day and enjoy hot tea, only the strainer takes care of the tea leaves for you.

Reviewer: Mixolidia

When I first saw this travel mug on the site I was super excited. Then I got it home (about a year ago) and the first cup of tea I drank from it tasted like plastic. I was very disappointed and felt like I had wasted my money. I didn't want to give it away b/c if I didn't wanted who would? right? So last week I thought I would give it another try. I took it to work with me and the second cup I brewed in it tasted less like plastic. By the third I can't even taste it anymore. I have a very delicate palate so if the taste was still there I would know. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe the cup just needed breaking in or the water I was using at home was too hot. But now I can't live with out this mug. I take it everywhere every day. I love it.

I tried this through a friend of mine and immediately searched to buy my own. The teas look gorgeous in the clear thick cup and the strainer and top really don't leak. I even carried it with me on my motorcycle to work the other day in a messenger bag pocket so I wouldn't have to give up my fresh-brewed cup of tea. I have been drawn back to loose teas which are often fresher and have whole flowers and leaves to unfurl. Thanks for carrying this product. It will be this year's favorite holiday present for my friends and family.

i LOVE this mug. It is beautiuful, it is quality, it doesn't leak, and most amazingly -- the outside remains comfortable to the touch, no matter how hot the tea is inside! It is a work of art. The only issue with it I have is that it's too small for me. I drink lots and lots of tea, and this one is just a few sips. So i carry it around with me and get it refilled with hot water everywhere. Very worth the purchase.

I have, for the longest time, been looking for a teapot/brewing vessel to use at work. Something that can brew good tea (unlike most plastic pieces I've used), but isn't fragile like a ceramic and doesn't weigh 10lbs like a cast iron. And now I have, and this is it. It's as solid as a club and doesn't get clogged/brew flat tea like the pots that have a valve/filter in the bottom to drain into the cup when placed on top.

Excellent and Classy Looking Mug for Tea on the Go (Saturday, April 26, 2008)
Reviewer: Shad

I recently received my travel mug from Teas Etc and have already used it quite a bit. The mug is classy and looks great, however, more importantly it is functional and allows me to drink tea on the go. After a bike ride with it today, I've gotten back home and am now ordering two more so that I can keep one in the car and have one in the office at my desk where I drink a lot of tea. I spent several months in China and regret that I didn't purchase a nice travel mug for green tea while I was there. They are fairly common but I put it off until I ran out of time. It didn't seem like a big deal since I figured I would buy one when I got back here to the states. Unfortunately it is hard to find a nice travel mug with a trainer. I've poured over lots of sites, and brick-and-mortar stores looking for a flask or thermos with a built in screen/strainer, all to no avail. Not only have I finally found one, but the one from Teas Etc works great and looks nice. Keep up the great work!

I loved this so much I bought two and I may end up buying more from my friends and family. It makes taking tea to work and school easy and fun.

I've found this mug/cup to be really great while traveling and going to class. Everyone asks me where they can get one and after searching for a long time I finally found your site. Thanks.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this MUG (Thursday, March 20, 2008)

This is a great mug. It makes taking my teas on the run so much easier. I use it every single day and it is holding up so well. I have at least one person every couple of days ask where I got it. This is a FABULOUS gift idea for any tea drinker.

great bottle (Friday, March 14, 2008)

The tea bottle is great. I have had one for 4 years (i sell them in my shop) Yes they are dishwasher safe, except for the lid. If it has a hologram on it with plastic over; water will get underneath. I use mine on cruises and when I go to conventions. You can hot or cold brew your tea in them. I have one customer that actually uses his when he is camping to cook rice!! You can pretty much cold brew any tea. Just takes longer. If you hot brew try different teas till you find the one you like. I juse Bao Zhong in mine and I hot brew. My husband uses Hojicha or genmiacha in his and he cold brews.

Tea Travel Mug (Wednesday, March 12, 2008)

This travel mug is a must for anyone on the go, home or work. It's much more convenient than using a tea diffuser or tea ball to filter the leaves. This mug is dishwasher safe, has a screen to filter the leaves from drinking, and a tight screw top lid to keep the contents from escaping. I've had no experiance with any leaks and am very satisfied with the product. It is nice looking and I have gotten a lot of positive comments on it.

Perfect mug (Tuesday, March 11, 2008)

Well I wont be using this mug in the car, not because of the design, but I can't do other things while I drive. I tried last night and it worked like a charm. I plan to use this mug for work and I'm thinking I might have to buy one for home when I don't want to use my tea pot.

Ok, so far (Monday, March 10, 2008)

I've been using the mug for a few days. I love that it's clear so the pretty teas (organic white rose and flowering) are visible. I agree that drinking from the threaded top isn't great and not recommended while moving. :) I was disappointed that there were no instructions with it. Does anyone know if it's dishwasher- or microwave-safe? If it is, that would upgrade my review to 4 stars.

This is that best purchase I made. I had to use it as soon as I took it out of the box. I wish that it had a changeable lid so you could drink it in the car. Would look for someone making a sip lid for the travel.

I received my tea travel mug today and it is great. It has a nice oriental design on it and I know it will work perfectly for that tea on the run. Thanks for another fantastic item. Michelle Metcalf

I really do like the mug but was a little disappointed it has not proven to be water tight which has led to a few mishaps. It is though the best mug i have yet seen for loose tea, most come with some sort of odd mesh ball or cone that floats inside, the mesh border at the top is by far more convenient and a better aesthetic.

Can't keep them on the shelf (Wednesday, January 09, 2008)

I'm selling a ton of these mugs. What a great invention. So easy and handy. They show off your teas and keep them warm and tidy for travel. If you carry one around be prepared to take orders from your friends. Try a flowering tea in one. It lasts all day, and fascinates everyone viewing it. Rising sun looks great and taste fantastic. Please get more of these in stock, I have a feeling they will be huge sellers for a long time. Connie

THE BEST (Tuesday, January 08, 2008)

ITS PERFECT IN THE MORNING TO TAKE TO WORK. I PUT 2 TEASPOONS OF THE CHUNMEE GREEN TEA IN IT, I GET TO FILL IT UP THREE TIMES BEFORE IT LOOSES ITS TASTE. IT KEEPS IT HOT AND LAST TILL NOON. ILL NEVER BE ABLE TO DRINK BAGGED TEA AGAIN.

I love these mugs. I had to buy 2 more for my sons(11 and 13 years old) so my wife and I could have our mugs back. These mugs do not leak. I have ordered 7 of these mugs for family and friends because everybody loves the idea. I am new to loose leaf teas and these mugs were a great way to start out.
