Get Real Get Loose Wins World Tea Expo's Best New Product Award
World Tea Expo, the largest business to business tea expo in North America announced Friday that Teas Etc's new line of specialty loose leaf teas Get Real Get Loose won "Best New Product" for 2009.
The creative, eco-friendly packaging is fun, hip and colorful giving serious quality loose leaf tea an approachable attitude. Compostable brew filters are included right on the outside of each package for a just add water simplicity that further enhances the idea that loose leaf tea is easy and accessible for everyone.
"Teas Etc is honored to be recognized by World Tea Expo which is the gold standard in the tea industry," says Beth Johnston, Founder and CEO of Teas Etc. "This increases the anticipation of the product's debut at the 2009 show in Las Vegas May 2nd 4th," she continued. The Get Real Get Loose launch features 12 tea types including certified organic and conventional varieties of black, white, green, oolong, herbal and rooibos each in its own vibrant, color coded package.
"Packaging that is eco-friendly and maintains the integrity of specialty tea was a challenge," says Johnston. "We wanted a product that was really green and uses pre and post-consumer recycled steel, water based inks, environmentally friendly adhesives, recycled paper and compostable filters that are packed in biodegradable bags made of plant material. Taking that one step further, Get Real Get Loose has incorporated many hand harvested teas which increases the "greenness" as well as the quality," she continued.
"The just add water concept is all about making specialty loose leaf tea simple and less intimidating," Johnston says. "Consumers want convenience and quality, not one or the other. Get Real Get Loose gives them both, the ease of a teabag with the quality of specialty loose leaf tea. With a desire to simplify life, specialty tea is an affordable luxury for people to enjoy with lots of added benefits such as antioxidants and other properties that help soothe and relax the spirit."
