Teas Etc Selected as a 2013 Florida Companies to Watch Recipient

Teas Etc is pleased to announce that they have been selected as one of 2013 Florida Companies to Watch winners. In its third year, Florida Companies to Watch is presented by GrowFL in association with the Edward Lowe Foundation. GrowFL is the program of the Florida Economic Gardening Institute at the University of Central Florida and is a critical component to the state's economic development strategy and Florida's entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Second Stages Businesses are selected for exhibiting entrepreneurial leadership, product innovation, social/community responsibility and competitive business practices. In addition "Companies to Watch" recipients are considered due to impressive employment rates and revenue growth.

Created by the Edward Lowe Foundation, Companies to Watch is an exclusive program that honors second-stage growth companies, those that have moved beyond the startup phases and seek significant, steady growth.

Companies are nominated by the more than 42 community partners that pledge their support from around the state. A record 260 first round applicants were narrowed to 106 finalists. Second round applications and rigorous judging resulted in the final selection of this year's 50 award recipients.

"I was honored to be nominated by Kelly Smallridge President & CEO of the Palm Beach County Business Development Board" said Beth Johnston, Founder & CEO of Teas Etc. "I am extremely proud that Teas Etc was selected to receive this prestigious award among such a diverse group of great Florida based companies" Johnston continues, "I am most proud to be a part of the American economic heartbeat that exemplifies Entrepreneurial Spirit. An idea, hard work and determination still reap rewards" she said.

The winners selected for the Florida Companies to Watch award will be celebrated at a special awards dinner on Thursday, October 24th at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida. To register to attend, visit FLCTW.GrowFL.com

The combined impact of the 50 companies selected this year is immense. In 2012 alone, the companies generated $388 million in total annual revenue and held 1,865 full-time equivalent employees, projecting the creation of 429 net new jobs for 2013. From 2009 through 2012 these companies generated $1.1 billion in revenue and added 940 employees (both in Florida and out of state) reflecting a 126% increase in revenue and 102% increase in jobs for the four-year period.
